Riffs You Should Know: Black Sabbath’s Into The Void (0:00 to 1:15)

[Being the first in a new series of brief transcriptions of righteous riffs. "Into the Void" was previously discussed, though not transcribed, here.]

There are many Black Sabbath riffs worth knowing for any guitar player, novice or otherwise; in this new section, I’ll be transcribing somewhat-lesser-known Sab riffs (not the whole songs) for your listening and performing pleasure.

The first is of course (in my mind) the Riff of Riffs, the first 1:15 of “Into the Void” from Master of Reality.

Uncapitalized letters represent notes that are staccato (1/2 duration)
Irregular groupings are notated above the duration line
Duration letters will always appear directly above the note/fret number it represents the
duration for.  Duration letters with no fret number below them represent rests.  Multi-
bar rests are notated in the form Wxn, where n is the number of bars to rest for.  Low
melody durations appear below the staff
